A former tennis player with 11+ years of coaching experience and two tennis academies.
Pavel competed across every junior age group, U12 through U18, on the Estonian national circuit, the Tennis Europe Tour, and the ITF Junior World Tour. His career-high ranking was Top 5 in Estonia's U16 category, and he represented Team Estonia in the United States at U14 level.
Pavel transitioned to the men's professional circuit, competing in ITF Futures tournaments. A career-ending injury at seventeen closed that chapter, and opened the one that's continued for the eleven years since: coaching.
Coaching became Pavel's path the same year his playing career ended. Since then he's coached thousands of players across the full range: absolute beginners, adult recreational players, competitive juniors from around the world, and ITF Futures-level professionals. He previously developed players for the Estonian Junior National Team.
Pavel founded VIKSTENNIS as a tennis school in Tallinn, Estonia. A second base has been growing in Barcelona, run across two venues, CEM Tennis l'Hospitalet and Can Via Racket Club, with the same coaching approach behind both.
Pavel holds a Bachelor's in Business Management from the Estonian Business School and a completed Master's in Sports Management from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, where he is now a PhD Candidate in Sports Sciences. What he teaches on court isn't opinion or tradition, it's what the research, and eleven years of watching what actually changes a player's game, both support.
